ABOUT

What is the Wisdom
we need for the future?

We are not provided with wisdom,
we must discover it for ourselves,
after a journey through the wilderness
which no one else can take for us,
and effort which no one can spare us.

- Marcel Proust (In Search of Lost Time, 1919)

Facing the future with our wisdoms

*What is the Wisdom we need for the future?

“Facing the Future with our Wisdom” Looking ahead to the next 100years

Improved technology has not only made the flow of information faster, but has made human relations more interactive. It could be said that our society has become more affluent.  On the other hand, wars never seem to cease and we still have severe environmental issues.  The bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers has resulted in a search for a change from the profit seeking economy that relies on mass production/consumption.

What do we need to make the world a better place? We believe the answer is something too complicated to be found on google, or even broken down into words.  But there are hints to the answer in the Wisdom of the world. We will consider these Wisdoms and evaluate them fairly, in order to create a better world 100 years from now.

Over 100 years ago, samurais from different classes gathered in Teradaya (a long-established inn) to discuss how to make the country better.  NWF aims to create a better future by creating an environment like the Teradaya.

*Our mission

1) Next Wisdom Center

We will file all the Wisdom we have collected and make it accessible online to all.

2) Open Discussion

In order to explore, collect, and use Wisdom in different ways, we will make discussions and exchange of information available virtually.

3) Connect Wisdom

We will introduce projects that support people, stories, and products which use and connect the collected Wisdom
